Give Care. Receive Care.
Care Ministry
Our
Life is difficult. It can be filled with sadness, loss, grief, physical challenge, and emotional illness. The heart of Jesus broke for those around him. He wept real tears in response to the sufferings of others. But Jesus also embodied hope. We do not have to endure our hardships in isolation or without end.
Whether you are seeking the help and support of others or you would like to offer your own gifts and support, we welcome you to these ministries with us.

Hope is often best represented through the tangible presence of other people who understand, who will walk the journey with us, who will be at our side, and who can speak a word of clarity and calm in the midst of a turbulent time.
Receive Care
With the Care Ministry at Our Saviour’s
The Pastoral Care Team at Our Saviour’s Lutheran meets weekly to pray for our church and the surrounding community. If marked “public to share”, your prayer request will be included in the prayer list sent out to the prayer team weekly. Please share your prayer or praise request so we can pray for you.
The Faith Community Nurse, pastors, and a team of laypeople provide compassionate support to those who are homebound, facing an unexpected hospital stay, or going in for planned hospital care. This ministry is currently on hold due to COVID-19.
The Faith Community Nurse oversees many caring and health ministries for the congregation including, but not limited to, blood pressure screenings (currently on hold), wellness presentations (currently on hold), medical referrals and resources, home visits, and meals. For more information please contact Dawn Deboer at dawndeboer@oursaviours.com.
At times, a meal or access to food delivery can be a great relief! If you are in need of a meal due to family transition, medical procedure, or another reason, we coordinate meals or groceries as the team is able. Click here to request a meal or groceries.
The Good Samaritan Fund may provide assistance to individuals and families of the Our Saviour’s faith community during a time of financial need – such as gift cards for groceries, gas, prescriptions, bills to be paid directly to the vendor, and other specific needs. An additional fund, the Parish Nurse Fund, may provide assistance specifically for medical and healthcare/basic needs. To request financial assistance click here.

Click here to request a prayer shawl for yourself or someone else. Please know the knitter prayed for the one who would receive the shawl. The knitter-prayer may not have known who would receive it but stitch by stitch prayers were lifted up for the recipient.

Prayer is a powerful gift to share with others. Prayer partners provide spoken prayers while communion is being served on a one-to-one basis. The commitment is about once a month during one of the worship services. Training and resources are provided. Even when we might not always have the words, the Spirit intercedes for us. Become a Prayer Partner during worship.
At the end of every week, Our Saviour’s sends out a weekly prayer list for you to include in your regular prayers. Receive the weekly prayer list.
Donate to the Good Samaritan Fund or Parish Nurse Fund – The Funds provide assistance to individuals and families of the Our Saviour’s faith community during a time of financial need. The Parish Nurse Fund is specifically for medical and healthcare/basic needs. Questions? Contact Dawn DeBoer or Pastor Emily.
This team is the “hands and feet” of the community in bringing the caring and continuing presence of Christ through Our Saviour’s to those who need extra contact, typically once a month in person, by phone, or sending a card. For more information on what this entails and for training click here.
